I love singing.

Whether it’s at home, driving or sitting in my office. The thing is I can’t hold a note; let’s just say I wasn’t first in the queue when the musical talent gene was being dished out. But, still I sing…

Nothing makes me happier than selecting a few of my favourites and keeping them on repeat.

Soaking yourself in praise does wonders for your soul and always offers a new perspective on a situation. When you to choose to drown out the noise of the world and get lost in your praise, the journey becomes that much more enjoyable.

At the moment, I’m listening to Israel Houghton and William McDowell; and I know these songs will get your foot tapping and reignite the Fire within.

Thank you for taking the time to read.

My voice of reason…

Today, I write with a very heavy heart.
My mentor is leaving the pristine shores of the Indian Ocean and evergreen lush bushes of Richards Bay to take up a brilliant opportunity on the opposite side of the globe.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m absolutely thrilled for him but shattered because he’s been such a fantastic voice of reason.
On so many occasions. And yes, I know in this age of technology communication won’t be a problem.
I’m old school… nothing beats face to face interaction.

Indulge me for a moment…

Dear Mentor,

Where do I start? What do I say?

Once again congratulations on this fantastic opportunity. Your new organisation has absolutely no idea of what a gem they have in you; as an individual and member of the greater team.

I hope that this little note will express my utmost gratitude. Thank you for agreeing to be my mentor, for the meaningful contribution and enormous impact you’ve had. Yes, you’ve helped shaped my journey for the better… you best believe it!

The wisdom you imparted has without a doubt been a tremendous help and the support was priceless. And it is at this point that the tears are beginning to sting and I’m trying very hard to choke back what could potentially turn into the Niagara Falls.

I think the one thing that I will forever treasure is the renewed sense of purpose that you helped me regain. You showed me how to take a step back, put things into perspective…

Just knowing that you were in my corner infused a degree of boldness that ordinarily would not come to the fore – thank you.

You believed in me. Thank you.
You’ve inspired me. Thank you.
You’ve helped me put my career into perspective. Thank you.
You’ve shown me the value of authentic leadership. Thank you.
You’ve shown me the value of honesty. Thank you.
You’ve shown me the value of sincerity. Thank you.
You’ve shown me the value of trust in the workplace. Thank you.
You’ve shown me that I have what it takes to lead. Thank you.

Thank you, a million times over, for your time, support and more importantly, patience.

And so my prayer for you is:

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Till the next time we meet!

Thank you for taking the time to read.

Stay fabulous and favoured x
